Concealed Handgun Carry Classes

Classes will be conducted at the FRC Indoor Pistol Range at 9378 S Choctaw Dr, Baton Rouge, LA 70815.

The classes will cost $100 ($75 for a renewal) and you will need to bring your carry firearm and at least 50 rounds of ammunition. The course covers all of the information that the state requires you to know before you apply for a concealed-carry permit, plus information that is valuable to know if you intend to become a responsible carrier. If you do not yet own a carry pistol, you can rent one to use for the live-fire portion of the class. Classes will begin at 9:00am and run until 6:00pm (or later if necessary), so be prepared for a full day. Please use the contact form to enquire about available spots or get more information. Also, please register on line (see boxes to right) for classes at least 48 hours in advance so that we know who is coming. NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting

This course is designed for beginners to acquire basic knowledge, right attitude and fundamental skills necessary to own and use a handgun safely and responsibly. This objectives-based  course introduces students to the knowledge, skills and attitude necessary for owning and using a pistol safely. Through this course, the students will learn about pistol parts and operation, ammunition, gun safety, pistol shooting fundamentals, and pistol shooting activities. Cost $100

Personal Protection Inside the Home

The NRA’s Basic Personal Protection in the Home course is for law-abiding adult citizens, as defined by applicable federal, state, or local law. It is much more than just a routine shooting course. It is important that participants have sufficient maturity and life experiences to be able to assess various situations and make mature decisions. This course teaches the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to the safe and efficient use of a handgun for protection of self and family, and provides information on the law-abiding individual’s right to self-defense.

Prerequisite Qualification: Participants are expected to show validation of shooting experience by showing an NRA Basic Pistol Course certificate, an NRA Marksmanship Qualification Program certificate, a Pistol qualification card, a DD 214 showing pistol qualification, or a Concealed Carry Permit. Cost $130
