Benjamin Price

Ben is a long time shooter and collector, and reloader. He began his career teaching fencing rather than shooting, however. From 1973 to 2000, Ben was the head coach at the L.S.U. Fencing Club and coached fencing at the Baton Rouge Magnet High School from 1976 to 1985. Dr. Price has a MA in Classical History and a Ph.D. in American Colonial History, and lectures in history at Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, Louisiana. He brings over 40 years of teaching experience and a passion for instruction and shooting to his classes. Ben has instructor certifications in NRA Basic Pistol Shooting, the NRA’s Personal Protection in the Home, and the NRA's Personal Protection Outside the Home.

John Hanchey is a lifelong firearms and self defense enthusiast.  John spent 10 years as a U.S. Marine infantryman training Marines in marksmanship and small unit tactics as a Platoon Sergeant and Primary Marksmanship Instructor.  He also served 2 years as Platoon Sgt. for STA Platoon, the Marine Corps' vaunted sniper units.  After leaving the Corps at the conclusion of the First Gulf War he served East Baton Rouge Parish as a Sheriff's Deputy before pursuing his B.A. and M.A. in history from Southeastern Louisiana University.  John taught history for several years, and then became an oilfield consultant and now drills wells for Exxonmobil and other major operatators all over the world.

John holds certifications in, and currently teaches, Basic Pistol, Concealed Carry, and the NRA's celebrated "Refuse to be a Victim" program.  He is also an official Recruiter for the National Rifle Association.  John's passions have always been shooting and teaching, and the safety and proficiency of his students are always his top priorities.
